So, the Pepper tree burl I thought I had ( on the advice of Wade the carver ) isn't. I don't know what it is. It was this beautiful looking burl with pink patterning. It looked like it would be amazing if half the color stayed after it was dry.

That was then, this is now, the wood is one of the weirdest things I have ever seen, like a combination of mold and burnt flesh. Warped and twisted I am unsure what the final resolution of the piece will be. The interior has to be turned as it is full of mold. The tenon on the bottom has twisted seriously, not just oval, but out of plane as well.
