Rikon 70-100 wood lathe and maximum turning size

This weekend past I pretty much maxed out the Rikon lathe.  I know they say the largest size that can be turned is 12 inches, but that is only in a pretty specific circumstance.  Yes, a wooden bowl where the base is 9 inches or less and the rim is twelve with a height of whatever.  You need a couple of inches for the tool rest holder to be able to fit under the piece.  This works out to about a 9 inch maximum diameter.

This a rough turned piece of camphor which I am leaving pretty thick.  The smaller bowls of the same wood really ovalize in the drying process.  Have to leave enough meat get it round again.
