Black Acacia Bowl
This afternoon I had a little window of time. I went out to the wood pile to see if I had anything that called out to me, "turn me, turn me!", but I was denied. The pile is growing, but I didn't have anything special to make, so I pulled a piece that was to be cast away. A few too many worm holes, cracks and some rot. Honestly, I didn't invest anything into whether the piece survived or not.
After about an hour the piece above volunteered, about 8 or 9 inches across, complete with a crack straight across the bottom. Didn't invest much time to sanding, but can revisit if the piece dries down intact.
Love the patterning in the wood, but it tears up something fierce. Have to keep the tools sharp, sharp sharp!
